Several welfare programs launched by the NDA government at the Centre draw inspiration from Narendra Modi’s initiatives as Gujarat Chief Minister.
Often termed the ‘Gujarat Model’, these measures are related to water conservation, tree plantation drives, celebrating the Constitution, promoting ethnic products and encouraging a sporting culture. Mr Modi has stressed on Jan Bhagidari or people’s participation in governance.
Cabinet minister Rushikesh Patel told media that a series of programmes including Vikas walks at iconic places will be organised during the week.
Development works worth over 3,500 crore rupees will also be launched in the state during this week. Through #VikasSaptah, people can also join the celebrations by sharing their experiences on Narendra Modi’s governance.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing 23 years in public life saying that his long journey is a living inspiration for those who are in public life.
Mr Modi today completed 23 years in his public life first as Chief Minister and then as Prime Minister.
In a social media post, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this long journey of public service of Prime Minister Modi is a symbol of the dedication as to how a person can devote his entire life to national interest and welfare of people.
Mr Shah said, Mr Modi has shown how to carry out the work for the welfare of the poor, country’s development, security and strengthening India’s global identity at the same time. Mr Shah said, instead of looking at the problems in pieces, Mr Modi presented the vision of holistic solution to the country.
Mr Shah said that it is a matter of good fortune for him that he has been a witness to this long public life of Mr Modi.
