Nagpur witnesses unprecedented rainfall this morning

In Maharashtra, Nagpur witnessed unprecedented rainfall today morning. However, the flood-like situation returned to normalcy by the afternoon. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reached Nagpur this evening to take stock of the situation. He informed that about 400 people were rescued from flooded regions by NDRF and SDRF teams while two persons died. 
 
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited the Ambazari overflow point this evening to inspect the situation and damage caused in many parts of the city. He said there is a need to increase the water storage capacity of Ambazari Lake, and it is necessary to build flood protection walls on the side of the lake.
