Tuensang District Hospital has been given the Kayakalp Award 2022-2023 for the best government district hospital in Nagaland. Tuensang District Hospital also received the Ecofriendly Award. CHC Aboi Mon bagged the award for best Community Health Centre category and the award for Best Primary Health Centre was given to Chuchuyimlang. Mopungchuket Health and Wellness Centre- sub-centre was awarded the best Health and Wellness Centre in the state.
 
Under the Kayakalp award for the year 2021-2022, Dimapur District Hospital bagged the first position, followed by Tuensang District Hospital and Kiphire District Hospital. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital Mokokchung received the eco-friendly award 2021-2022. A total of 163 health units comprising district Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, HWCs, and UPHCs were given the Kayakalp Award 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.
 
A felicitation program was held for Kayakalp awardees 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 at the Health Directorate in Kohima today. Speaking at the programme, Health and Family Welfare Minister, P Paiwang Konyak credited the Kayakalp initiative in the state as a boost to community’s involvement in the activities of the Health Units, be it in social work, contribution in cash and kind towards the improvement and upkeep of the health facilities.
 
Lauding all the awardees for their commendable job, the state health Minister has also appealed to them to continue working relentlessly towards the betterment of the public health service. He also appealed the community for their continued support towards the Medical Department, as health is everyone’s concern and called upon all to work towards improving the state’s health scenario so that one day it can become a model for other States to emulate.
 
The Kayakalp- A Clean Hospital Initiative award, launched by  National Health Mission, has been accorded to Public Hospitals to incentivise and recognize “Exemplary Performances”. Kayakalp Program envisages promotion of Cleanliness and Hygiene, Enhancement of Quality of care, and Infection Control Practices as a critical part of all Hospitals.
