Nagaland police have placed 43 police personnel on suspension under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Informing this to media persons in Kohima today, Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland, Rupin Sharma said, 23 personnel were given a quantum of punishment under the NDPS Act.
He said, one was given compulsory retirement, seven were dismissed from service, nine were awarded stoppage of two-year increment with cumulative effect and suspension period, three personnel with a year increment down with cumulative effect and suspension period, and one each personnel awarded with rank down with cumulative effect for three years, one year increment down with cumulative effect and suspension period and one year increment down without cumulative effect and suspension period treated as not on duty.
Further, Mr. Sharma added that a departmental inquiry on 20 suspended personnel is pending.
