Nagaland joined with the rest of the Country in paying rich tribute to the gallant Indian Army soldiers who had sacrificed their lives in defending the country during the Kargil War of 1999. A solemn celebration marked the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas held at Raj Bhavan Kohima today. War veterans, Veer Naris, civil society organisations along with the state government officials, army officials, and NCC cadets attended the programme. 

Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan paid tribute to the brave and fearless soldiers of Mother India, who stood firm on their line of duty and are no more with us. Mr. Ganesan said our great nation will continue to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of these Bravehearts. The Governor said today nation is seeking inspiration from these brave-hearts and their families and urged all citizens to dedicate oneself and their duties towards the nation. On the occasion, veterans were felicitated for their services.
