Nagaland observed World Blood Donor’s Day across various districts of the state on Friday. In Kohima, the Voluntary Blood Donor’s Association Kohima in collaboration with Nagaland Institute of Medical Science & Research observed the World Blood Donor’s day at Nagaland Institute of Medical Science & Research Centre, NIMSR, Kohima.
Special Guest of the programme, Director cum Dean, NIMSR Prof. Dr. Soumya Chakraborty in her address said accident related victims, diseases and pandemic required constant demand for Blood Donation, but three out of the ten cases does not get Blood. She said donation is the only way around to address the supply of Blood in order to save lives. Dr Chakraborty said, there is no side effect for Blood donation as she herself has donated 22 times.
