Nagaland joins rest of the country in celebrating Teacher’s Day

Nagaland joined the rest of the country in celebrating Teacher’s Day on Tuesday. A State-level Teacher’s Day held in Kohima marked the celebration with fanfare and tributes by students.
 
Addressing the event, Advisor for School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome said that we all owe a debt to our teachers and attributed teachers as the pillar of the success of what we are today.
 
Dr. Yhome also launched Vidya Samiksha Kendra(VSK) a centralised management system for monitoring the real-time status of various projects and activities of School Education and its sister Organisations.
 
On the occasion, 18 teachers of both government and private schools were honoured with State teachers awards recognising their invaluable contributions and dedication towards quality of education and enriching the lives of their students. Each teacher awardee was given a certificate of merit, a cash award of 15,000 rupees, and a medal.
