In Nagaland, four districts have suspended physical classes in schools till the 26th of August following the detection and rising cases of conjunctivitis ( Eye flu ) among the school-going children. These districts are Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Niuland, and Mon.
The Deputy Commissioners of these districts have decided to temporarily suspend physical classes in order to break one of the cycles of transmission and to prevent exponential surge of eye flu cases not only among students but also among teachers and parents.
Further, the District Administrations have asked the school authorities in these districts to consider implementing online classes to ensure that students can continue their education while maintaining their safety.
