Nagaland: 112 fever rash cases reported in Dimapur district

In Nagaland, 112 fever rash cases have been reported in Dimapur district. The office of Chief Medical Officer Dimapur informed that out of 112 fever rash cases reported, 53 were confirmed Measles and three confirmed Rubella.
 
The office of Chief Medical Officer Dimapur said, as per the roadmap to Measles and Rubella (MR) Elimination by 2023 of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines, special immunization response has been initiated in areas of the Dimapur district where cases were concentrated.
 
In this regard, a special immunization drive will take place from the 6th to the 14th of October in all the health units of the Dimapur district. During the drive, children in the age group of nine months to five years will be administered one dose of MR vaccine. 
 
The State Health Department has requested colony members, Goan Buras, Churches, Civil Society Organisations, allied departments, and the community to support in ensuring the success of the immunisation drive.
