In Jammu and Kashmir, the Mughal Road, the alternate national highway connecting the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu division with the Shopian district in the Kashmir division will be opened by the end of this month. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) launched the snow clearance work in the first week of March and the work was going on at a full pace. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin Choudhary, said it will be made operational for the movement of vehicles by the end of this month. The road was closed four months ago after snowfall led to its blockage.
