Madhya Pradesh government has decided to provide various facilities to the minor rape victims. The objective of the scheme is to provide protection to the victims of sexual crime under the POCSO Act and financial assistance from the Nirbhaya Fund of the Central Government.
In the cabinet meeting in MP, it has been decided to provide facilities like education, police assistance, maternity and newborn care, psychological counselling, legal aid, health insurance and shelter in care institutions to the rape victims under Mission Vatsalya. It will not be necessary to have a copy of the FIR to get the benefit in this scheme. The victim minor girl will be given Rs 4000 per month for non-institutional care. The scheme will be implemented through the collector. For this, Rs 10 lakh will be provided to each district from the Nirbhaya Fund.
