The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation today released the results of the Annual Survey of Industries – ASI, for the period April 2022 to March 2023 in New Delhi. The Survey provides valuable input to the National Account Statistics at the national and state levels.
Talking about the release of ASI, the Statistics and Programme Implementation Minister Rao Inderjit asserted that it serves as a principal source in understanding the country’s data landscape. He added that the survey has been instrumental in shaping the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the Production Linked Incentive Schemes, and strategies related to skill development.
The Minister also underlined that data is not just a tool but a backbone of modern governance and decision-making. He highlighted that data is used in creating job opportunities, driving technological innovation, and ensuring sustainability among others.
