MoS L Murugan Reviews Preparations for WAVE Summit in Mumbai

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Shri. L Murugan, chaired a crucial review meeting in Mumbai today for the upcoming World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. Held at Jio World Convention Centre, the session brought together nodal officers from the Government of India and the Maharashtra State Government, who provided updates on preparations for the milestone event.

 

Discussions centered on the four pillars of WAVES—Broadcasting and Infotainment, AVGC-XR, Digital Media and Innovation, and Films. Key initiatives such as WAVES Bazar, WAVEX, Bharat Pavilion, and Create in India Challenges were assessed, along with on-ground event preparations.

 

Scheduled from May 1 to 4, 2025, WAVES aims to amplify India’s status as a global content hub, fostering collaboration among creators, investors, and innovators. The Summit will spotlight sectors like Television, Radio, Films, Gaming, AI, AR, VR, and XR, cementing India’s leadership in media and entertainment.
