MoS for Social Justice & Empowerment Ramdas Athawale backs quota for OBC Minority community

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, has backed the quota for the OBC Minority community. Addressing the media in Hyderabad, he alleged that the Congress, which had ruled the country for decades, had not agreed to extend the reservation. He alleged the demand for the BC census was being raised after Congress failed to do it during the 10-year tenure of the UPA. The Minister said, if the Telangana state government felt that it had been denied its due share in the Union Budget, it should approach the Centre and he would back its demand. Stating that Andhra Pradesh was given 15 thousand crore rupees as it lacks a capital city, the minister said, the Centre does not discriminate against any state while executing schemes or building national highways. He said national highways, airports are being developed and Vande Bharat trains are being run and work on metro trains has been taken up in all cities.
