Agriculture ministry organises national conference on boosting Crop Production Data

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare today organised a national conference in New Delhi with states to discuss improvements in crop production statistics.

The primary focus of the conference was on the enhancement of agricultural production statistics and integration of technology to strengthen data accuracy. Chairing the conference, Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi emphasised the need for continuous collaboration between the central and state governments to achieve the shared goal of enhancing the quality of agricultural statistics.

The Ministry, in a statement, said that the conference underscored the need for integrating cutting-edge technologies like remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and artificial intelligence to enhance the accuracy and reliability of crop production data. Discussions were held regarding initiatives to enhance accuracy, reliability, and transparency of agriculture statistics, which are crucial for policy formulation, trade decisions, and agricultural planning.
