Union Minister Jitendra Singh has said transparency and citizen-centricity have been fostered in the administration in the last ten years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Addressing the 16th Annual Convention of the Central Information Commission in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Minister said that more than 80 percent functioning of the Central Government offices was converted into online mode by 2018. He added that the number of RTI complaints witnessed an increase in the last ten years, showcasing the transparency of the administration, effective disposal of complaints and the trust of citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Information Commissioner Heeralal Samariya that the State Information Commissions have organised many workshops and interactive sessions for spreading awareness about RTI among the citizens. He added that all the State Information Commissions are working towards increasing transparency and eradicating secrecy in the administration.
