More than 6 lakh villages, including tribal villages, are covered with broadband connectivity. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Communications, Devu Singh Chauhan said as on March 2022, around 6 lakh 384 villages are connected with broadband out of 6 lakh 44 thousand 131 villages.

He informed that the highest number of villages left uncovered are in Odisha.
