The government today said that more than five crore fake ration cards have been identified and eliminated in the last 10 years. Addressing the media on the digital infrastructure and digital connectivity in New Delhi, Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh said that more than four crore bogus LPG connections have been eliminated across the country.

The minister added that more than seven lakh fake MGNREGA job cards have also been terminated. Further, Mr. Singh said that nearly 30 lakh nonexistent beneficiaries under the Minority Affairs Ministry have been identified and eliminated.

Mr. Singh also said that Jan Dhan Yojana, Aadhaar, and Mobile (JAM) Trinity have been the driving force of the digital public infrastructure. He added that these three facilities have promoted inclusivity and economic growth across the country.

He asserted that with the advent of the Parivesh Portal, everything is being monitored electronically, which fosters accountability and time efficiency.
