More than 19 lakh patients availed of dialysis services and around 218 lakh Hemo-dialysis sessions were held last month under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP).
This programme is for Chronic Kidney Disease patients which ensures availability of dialysis services in all the district hospitals in the country free of cost to all BPL beneficiaries. This information was given by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply in Lok Sabha. He said that PMNDP has been implemented in the country in all 36 States and Union Territories in 686 districts at 1403 centres by deploying 9477 Hemo-dialysis machines. This programme is operational in both the Public-Private Partnership mode and in-house mode.
