The monsoon session of the Haryana assembly began at Chandigarh today with obituary references. Leader of the House and Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, and leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda read out the obituary resolutions.
Those who were paid tributes include former Governor of Sikkim Chaudhary Randhir Singh, former Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Rattan Lal Kataria, former deputy minister of Haryana Jai Narain Khundia, freedom fighter Mahashay Parmanand – resident of village Fazilpur Badli in District Gurugram.
The House also expressed its deep sense of sorrow on the sad and untimely demise of those passengers who lost their lives in Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Coromandel Express and a goods train collision in district Balasore of Odisha, on June 2, 2023 and those security personnel, who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks at district Poonch on April 20, 2023 and at district Rajouri on May 5, 2023, in Jammu & Kashmir.
The House gave a tearful farewell to 42 brave Martyrs of Haryana who showed indomitable courage and made the supreme sacrifice while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the motherland.
The house passed the obituary resolutions also kept silence for two minutes to pay respect to the departed souls.
