The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has resumed the use of India-donated helicopters and Dornier aircraft to transport patients. The Indian helicopters are operated jointly by the Indian army and the MNDF and are used to airlift medical patients in Maldives. After President Muizzu had assumed his office, Maldives urged India to withdraw military personnel operating the aircrafts. Earlier this year, India had replaced the manpower with civilian crew.
In a message to the local media yesterday, MNDF said that the ferrying service of patients has begun with civilian crews operating Indian helicopters and Dornier aircraft.
