In Mizoram, all preparations are in place for the celebration of India’s 78th Independence Day 2024. Security has been tightened and elaborate arrangements are in place for the successful celebration of the occasion.  

IGP Law and Order,  Lalbiakthanga Khiangte yesterday said that elaborate security arrangements are in place to prevent any untoward incident during the Independence Day celebrations in Aizawl and the entire state.

The State-Level celebration will be held at  Assam Rifles Ground ‘Lammual’ in the heart of Aizawl city. He said that security has been beefed up, especially at Assam Rifles Ground, where the  state Chief Minister Lalduhoma is going to deliver his maiden Independence Day address.

Khiangte said that stringent security arrangements are also being made along the international borders and inter-state boundaries especially in view of the prevailing situation in Bangladesh. Police and paramilitary forces guarding the Bangladesh border are instructed to prevent any entry of illegal migrants from across the border.
