In Mizoram, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati lauded the efforts and achievements of Assam Rifles in the service of the nation. The Governor was speaking at the investiture ceremony organized by Assam Rifles at Raj Bhawan in Aizawl today. Appreciating the role and services rendered by the Assam Rifles, the Governor thanked the personnel and all ranks of Assam Rifles for their dedication to their duties in the service of the nation. He appreciated the Assam Rifles for the maintenance of security in the region and for helping the state machinery in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal trade activities. He also emphasized the need to maintain a strict vigil in view of the forthcoming Assembly polls later this year.
The Governor felicitated 23 jawans for their exceptional performances with the Governor’s Gold and Silver Medals. The ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary Dr Renu Sharma, DGP Anil Shukla, IGAR (East) Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar, DIG of 23 Sector Assam Rifles Brigadier Girish Upadhya, besides many high-ranking officials.
