In Mizoram, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati said that Mizoram can proudly be proclaimed as an “island of peace.” The Governor was speaking at the Bharat Ko Jano programme in Kolasib District of Mizoram today. Dr. Kambhampati said that after two decades of insurgency, the Mizoram Peace Accord has stood the test of time.

He said that Bharat Ko Jano is an important initiative, as it is our duty as responsible citizens to be aware about our country. He further said that in the North East there are over 200 ethnic communities, with more than 220 dialects being spoken in the region. The governor said that an important way to achieve “Viksit Bharat” is through the proper utilisation of the various central government schemes that are available.
