In Mizoram, an 18-member strong team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar arrived in Aizawl today for a three-day visit. The team’s visit is significant in view of the Assembly Election to be held later this year.
During their stay in the state, the ECI team will have meetings and interactions with State Government officials, political parties and all stakeholders for the smooth conduct of the forthcoming Assembly polls. On reaching Aizawl, the full commission ECI team met Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and held meetings with leaders of National and State-recognized political parties. The ECI team also interacted with the Chief Electoral Officer Madhup Vyas. The ECI team will hold a Press Conference tomorrow.
