The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports along with the UN agencies, and the International Labour Organisation is celebrating International Youth Day at Chennai today. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur will be delivering the keynote address and chairing the Youth Conclave. He will also interact with five international delegates during the event. More than 200 students and youth from all over the State are participating in the conclave.

With the UN theme of the year being Green Skills for the Youth, the conclave will focus on the cocreation of change and the attainment of sustainable development goals. The Regional Director of UNICEF South Asia Region, Sanjay Wijesekara, and UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp will participate in the event virtually. The Minister will also meet the Regional Heads of all the media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting later in the day.
In the evening, Mr. Anurag Thakur will witness the finals of the Asian Men's Hockey Championship today.
