The Ministry of Tourism has identified ‘Prayagraj’ and ‘Naimisharanya’ in Uttar Pradesh as destinations for development under ‘Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) with the objective to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations.

In a written reply in Lok Sabha Minister of Tourism G. Kishan Reddy said that the State Perspective Plan (SPP) prepared by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh did not include Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary for development. He further added that the government launched ‘Swadesh Darshan Scheme’ (SDS) in the year 2014-15 for integrated development of Theme-Based Tourist Circuits in the country and there are 08 projects of identified thematic circuits in Uttar Pradesh.
