Ministry of Skill Development Announces Strategic Initiatives in New Delhi: MOUs Exchanged, New Courses Launched

To bolster India’s skill ecosystem, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship unveiled a series of strategic initiatives today in New Delhi. At the heart of the announcement was the exchange of 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various institutes including the Department of Food and Public Distribution, the Labour Department, IIT Mandi and the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery. On this occasion, four cutting-edge courses tailored to meet the demands of the digital age were also launched.

 

Highlighting the importance of embracing disruptive technologies, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the role of skill development in navigating the rapidly evolving global landscape. He commended Prime Minister Modi’s vision and underscored the significance of initiatives like the Skill Training of Fair Price Shop Operators in empowering individuals and communities. Mr. Pradhan underscored the pivotal role of digital infrastructure in propelling India’s growth trajectory. He also cited the government’s efforts in providing free ration to a significant portion of the population. The Minister emphasized the need for continuous skill enhancement through reskilling and upskilling, stressing the importance of citizen participation in driving this transformative agenda forward.

 

With India’s burgeoning youth population, abundant resources, and thriving market, Mr. Pradhan said that the stage is set for the country to emerge as a global powerhouse.

 

To address the regional development, MOUs were exchanged with organisations like the North East Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation and the North East Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation. Some of the other significant launches included Mock Test App 2.0 by the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI) for Industrial Training Institute students and the establishment of two Centres of Excellence in Media and Electronics at the Skill Development Institute in Bhubaneswar.
