Ministry of Mines has generated over 17 crore rupees revenue by disposing of scrap and weeded out about 27 hundred files from November last year till August this year. The activities taken up as a part of the Special Campaign 2.0, the ministry could free up over 34 thousand square feet of office space. The Minister undertook several activities under the campaign including creating rainwater harvesting, compost pits, cleaning lakes and ponds besides eco-disposal of waste. The Ministry has identified 84 site offices across the country for implementing 116 activities in the name of “giving back to the environment” campaign. As part of best practices, the buildings owned by the offices of Ministry of Mines had set up rainwater harvesting structures. Reviewing the works done under the special campaign, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi suggested to be taken up segregation of waste in the departmental canteens.
