Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today announced the establishment of a helpline desk within the ministry to assist startups, particularly in addressing issues related to bureaucracy. Addressing the Startup Maharathi Challenge at Startup Mahakumbh in New Delhi, he said that startup founders will have the opportunity to register their complaints, and for those in remote areas, the registration can also be done in regional languages.
He stated that Maharathi represents a highly skilled warrior, drawing a parallel to entrepreneurs who exhibit similar qualities. Mr Goyal extended his congratulations to all entrepreneurs participating in the Maharathi Challenge, highlighting that 40 percent of the participants hailed from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, including women-led startups.
Meanwhile, the minister also visited exhibition stalls and interacted with industry representatives at Startup Mahakumbh. Talking to the media, he stated that the next edition of Startup Mahakumbh will be even more expansive and impressive. He said that in the next Startup Mahakumbh, over 5,000 startups, particularly those focused on technology, will be provided a platform.
