Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Secretary Sanjay Jaju today asserted that the Central Government’s schemes are being properly disseminated to the masses through media units under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

He was speaking at Nagpur Akashvani after holding a review meeting with  officers of various media units under the Ministry in Nagpur. On this occasion, officials of  the Press Information Bureau, Central Communication Bureau, Akashvani and Doordarshan were present.

The Secretary further said that dissemination of central government schemes and its feedback mechanism is being done by the media units of I&B spread across Vidarbha .  Mr Jaju said,  in Vidarbha, not only Akashvani and  Doordarshan, but also Indian Institute of Mass Communication-IIMC at Amravati are also catering to information needs in this region. The infrastructure and facilities available at all these institutions were discussed in this review meeting and Secretary Jaju expressed confidence that these media units will certainly contribute to the dissemination of government schemes.  He said that the media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also have actively participated in the initiatives like Swachhta Abhiyan and ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’

After the review meeting, the Secretary also inspected the studios and premises of Akashvani, Nagpur.
