Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw today said that metro rail, suburban rail, and railway line connectivity will improve mobility in Bengaluru. He was addressing media personnel in Bengaluru today after inspecting the progress of the Cantonment railway station modernization and reconstruction project. The minister added that the detailed project report for the circular rail in Bengaluru will be ready by December. He informed that the railways will take up the matter with the Airport Authority of India to lay the railway line very close to Kempegowda International Airport, and the doubling of the railway line up to Yelahanka will improve commuting capacity.
Speaking about the Cantonment railway station modernization, the minister said that the new state-of-the-art railway station with modern facilities and interiors will be constructed in an area of 1,800 square meters. Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw also mentioned that the four-laning of the railway line between Bengaluru city and Whitefield is progressing very well.
