Met Department at Bhubaneswar forecasts rainfall to intensify in Odisha

In Odisha, many parts of the northern region of the State continue to experience consistent rainfall as a result of the low pressure centered over the Northern Bay of Bengal. The Regional Meteorological Department at Bhubaneswar has forecast the rainfall to intensify in the State from today. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in several areas across the northern districts for the next four days. Orange and yellow warnings to several districts across Odisha in view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall till the 2nd of next month. 

Orange warnings have been issued to Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, and Jagatsinghpur districts while yellow warnings have been issued to 20 other districts of the State. Many areas under northern and western Odisha are likely to experience the heaviest rainfall in the next 72 hours. A few coastal areas of the State are also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Water logging is expected at several places in the State due to the consistent rainfall.
