MDMK leader Vaiko appeals Union/State govt to seek release of 32 Indian fishermen arrested by British Navy

Member of Parliament and MDMK leader Vaiko has appealed to the Union and the State Governments to seek the release of 32 Indian fishermen who were arrested by the British Navy on the 27th of September. In an appeal, Vaiko said that the fishermen from Nagapattinam had been fishing in the deep sea at the Indian Ocean when they were arrested for trespassing into international waters at Diego Garcia Island.

The British Navy had arrested the fishermen and seized their boats. They were produced at the Court on the island. Their families were informed recently about the arrest.
