Markets opened on a slightly lower note today, following an upward trend throughout the week. The Sensex started with a dip of 76 points, while the Nifty also declined, opening at 23,401. The markets continued to slide shortly after opening, with the Sensex trading marginally down at 77,024 and the Nifty shedding over 30 points to hit a low of 23,404, when the reports last came in.
