Major Asian indices ended mixed today. South Korea’s Kospi climbed 0.37 percent and Japan’s Nikkei added 0.16 percent. While Hong Kong’s Hang Seng slipped 0.52 percent, China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.42 percent and Singapore’s Straits Times decreased 0.12 percent.
In the European market, major indices are trading in green today. France’s CAC gained 0.91 percent, Germany’s DAX added 0.66 percent and London’s FTSE was higher by 0.17 percent, when the reports last came in.
In the Forex market today, the Indian rupee closed at 83 rupees and 64 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was up by 0.23 percent at 105.43 in intra-day trade.
There were no global markets report during U.S. hours on yesterday, as markets are closed for a public holiday.
The S&P 500 appreciated 0.25 percent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was marginally up 0.05 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite was also up by 0.03 percent on Tuesday.
