Domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty hit another fresh high in the last hour of trade. However, both benchmark stocks opened today’s session in red. The Nifty50 reached a record high of 26,032 during the session before closing with a gain of 0.25 per cent or 63 points at 26,004. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex also achieved a new all-time high of 85,247 in the intra-day and concluded the session with a gain of 0.3 per cent or 255 points at 85,169. This is the fifth consecutive session, where the markets have hit a record peak.

The broader market at BSE underperformed the benchmark indices. The MidCap index fell 0.53 per cent and the SmallCap index slipped 0.35 per cent.
