In Manipur, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate for Manipur Outer Parliamentary Constituency K. Timothy Zimik, and Manipur People’s Party (MPP) candidate for Manipur Inner Parliamentary Constituency R.K. Somerendro filed their nomination papers today.
So far, only two candidates have filed the nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. However, Congress had already announced their candidates for both Inner and Outer Lok Sabha seats in Manipur. But none of them filed their nomination papers till today.
The NPF candidate for Outer Lok Sabha K. Timothy Zimik filed his nomination papers to the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal district who is RO for Outer Lok Sabha, while the MPP candidate for Inner Lok Sabha R.K. Somerendro filed his nomination paper to the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West district.
Mr. Somerendro is a well-known film actor of Manipur. Another film actor from the State, Th. Maheshwar who is National Secretary of the RPI (Athawale), has already announced that he will contest the Inner Lok Sabha seat.
BJP has already declared that the party will support the candidate of NPF, while its candidate for the Inner Lok Sabha seat in Manipur is yet to be finalized.
