In Manipur, the combined force of the Indian Army, Paramilitary Force, and Manipur Police has intensified the operation to dismantle illegal bunkers installed in the vulnerable areas of the State while unidentified gunmen shot dead a woman in broad daylight in Imphal city.
 
According to the police report, the incident occurred near a school when classes from one to eight standard resumed yesterday. Meanwhile, the Director General of Assam Rifles Lt. General Pradeep Chandran Nair called on the Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan in Imphal today. The Director General briefed the Governor about the security measures taken up by the Assam Rifles to control violence in the State.
