In Manipur, the combined force of Manipur Police and Central Security forces destroyed thirty-three illegal bunkers installed in Kangpokpi and Bishnupur districts of the State during the last twenty-four hours.
 
At least two civilians sustained bullet and mortar injury on 8th July 2023, Saturday when armed miscreants from nearby hills attacked the area. The report of Manipur Police Control Room said that one villager of Phubala Meetei village under Bishnupur district sustained bullet injury when suspected militants fired towards the village. The injured villager was working in the paddy field when a few rounds of automatic rifles were fired from the nearby hillside. The security forces rushed to the spot and repelled the armed miscreants.
 
One mortar fired from the Thangjing foothill area by unknown armed miscreants hit a house in Kwakta village in the Bishnupur district on 8th July 2023, Saturday. The owner of the house sustained injuries from mortar splinters and was discharged from the hospital after medical treatment.
 
The search operation by the security forces has been continuing in the State and around 126 checkpoints have been installed in different districts of Manipur as a security measure.
