In Manipur, the State Government has decided to deploy security forces at Petrol Pumps. Addressing a press conference this afternoon in Imphal, the State Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister L. Sushindro said that miscreants are taking advantage of the prevailing law and order situation of the State, forcefully taking petrol and other POL items from the dealers without paying money. This has come to light after dealers complained to the state Government. Therefore, the Government has decided to deploy a security force at petrol pumps from tomorrow, the Minister said.

He also informed that sufficient stock of POL is available in the State and the public will be informed about the allocation of POL to each dealer from tomorrow. All dealers should provide the POL items to the public and there should be no excuse for legal action will be initiated against those petrol pumps which closed the pumps despite having sufficient POL items.
