Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey has emphasized the need for close coordination among scientific research institutions such as the Institute of Bioresource and Sustainable Development (IBSD) and the Central Agricultural University to ensure viable research innovations aimed at tapping the immense potential of bioresources in Manipur.

Speaking at the consultation program held at IBSD Imphal today, the Governor said that the IBSD Imphal is engaged in research activities and several outreach programs to fulfill the mission of bio-resource development and their sustainable utilization through biotechnological intervention for socio-economic development of the North Eastern Region.

She said that IBSD is working on integrated studies for documentation of bio-resources of North Eastern Region and their scientific validation, value addition to promote innovations and to promote bio-economy with various approaches to fulfill the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Developed India.
