In Punjab, four people, including two Sewadars of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, were injured when a man from Haryana allegedly attacked them with an iron rod at the Guru Ram Dass Serai in the Golden Temple yesterday.

 

The attacker was overpowered and handed over to the police. 

 

The incident occurred as the SGPC staff found the man roaming suspiciously and asked for his identity. He entered into an argument with the staff, who asked him to leave the place. 

 

The man went out, came back armed with an iron rod and allegedly attacked the SGPC staff and the devotees who tried to intervene.

 

Amritsar Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed that the person was identified as Gulfan of Shadipur in Yamuna Nagar of Haryana. He has been arrested. Mr Bhullar said that the situation is under control now. Investigations are underway.
