Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge today criticised the Modi government for the rising unemployment rate in the country. In a social media post today, quoting the International Labour Organisation’s report, Mr. Kharge said, 83 percent of jobless Indians are youth and only 17.5 percent of youth in rural areas are engaged in regular work. He alleged that youth unemployment has tripled under the Modi government compared to 2012.
Meanwhile, the Congress also came down heavily on BJP for allowing mining baron Janardhan Reddy to rejoin the Party. In a media briefing Congress leader Pawan Khera alleged that the BJP is saving Janardhan Reddy as 20 cases are pending against him. He added that the inclusion of Janardhan Reddy is BJP’s plan B after electoral bonds were declared illegal.
