Maldivian President describes India visit for PM’s swearing-in as major success, emphasizes strengthening bilateral ties

President of Maldivian Republic, Dr Mohamed Muizzu has described his official visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a significant success for the Maldives. The President made these remarks while speaking to the state media of Maldives.

 

The President expressed his delight at being invited and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the invitation. He emphasised that the strong ties between the two nations would bring prosperity to the Maldives and Maldivian citizens, and he expressed optimism for a successful bilateral relationship in the future. 

 

External Affairs Minister, Dr Subramanyam Jaishankar paid a courtesy call to President Dr. Muizzu just hours after the swearing-in ceremony. The meeting focused on bilateral collaboration, with both the President and the Minister expressing their eagerness to strengthen the long-standing relations between the nations and cooperation in areas of shared values and mutual interest.
