Malaysian PM to arrive in New Delhi on three-day visit to India 

Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim will arrive in New Delhi tonight on a three day visit to India . This will be his first visit as the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The External Affairs Ministry said, Prime Minister of Malaysia will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (20th August 2024) . During his visit, he will also meet President Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
 
The Ministry said, the bilateral relationship between the two nations was elevated to the status of Enhanced Strategic Partnership in 2015 during the visit of Prime Minister Modi. The visit of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will pave the way for further strengthening of India-Malaysia bilateral ties by charting out a multi-sectoral cooperation agenda for the future. 
 
Malaysia has emerged as 16th largest trading partner for India while India figures among the 10 largest trading partners for Malaysia. The bilateral trade between the two countries stood at around 20 billion US dollar in last fiscal. Malaysia is also our 3rd largest trading partner in ASEAN. India and Malaysia have strong historical and socio-cultural linkages.
