The secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Amardeep Singh Bhatia has said that the Make in India Initiative resulted in substantial achievements in manufacturing, infrastructure, defense, and exports. Addressing a press conference on the completion of ten years of Make in India, Mr Bhatia informed that under the program, government policies such as PLI schemes, FDI reforms, and infrastructure development have successfully attracted both domestic and foreign investments. He mentioned that, under the Make in India initiative, the defense production policy also promoted domestic defence production under Atmanirbhar Bharat and contracts worth billions of dollars were given to Indian companies. Mr Bhatia added that the automobile, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical sectors have seen the highest FDI growth.
