Major UP rivers flow above danger mark; 73 teams from NDRF, SDRF, PAC deployed in flood-affected districts

In Uttar Pradesh, the Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra, Sharda, Ken, and Chambal rivers have reached above the danger mark at different places due to rains over the past several days and the release of water from the dams. The Ganga River in Badaun, the Ken River in Banda, and the Chambal River in Dhaulpur are currently flowing above the danger mark.

Meanwhile, the Ganga River in Farrukhabad, the Sharda River in Lakhimpur, and the Rapti River in Balrampur are just half a meter below the danger mark. Additionally, the Ganga is in spate in the district of Amroha due to the release of water from the Bijnor Barrage, while the water level of the Ganga-Yamuna is increasing rapidly in Prayagraj. Due to rising water levels in the Sangam area, water police have been deployed at all ghats in the flood-affected regions.

Several villages in 18 districts of the state are affected by floods, and a total of 74 teams from the NDRF, SDRF, and PAC have been deployed in the flood-affected districts of Uttar Pradesh.
