Major hospitals in the national capital are fully prepared to deal with the cases of burn injuries during Diwali. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, and Safdarjung Hospitals have reserved beds for patients suffering from burn injuries due to fire incidents.
Talking to Akashvani News, Dr. Maneesh Singhal, Head of the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, AIIMS, said that around 25 percent of beds have been reserved for such patients, and additional doctors, nurses, and technical manpower have also been deployed for the management of burn cases.
Dr. Sameek Bhattacharya, Chairman of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department at RML Hospital, said that 10 to 15 beds have been kept reserved in the hospital to provide immediate treatment for such patients.
In Safdarjung hospital, beds in the ICU and ward have been kept vacant for admission and management of severe burn injuries in case of fire incidents on Diwali.
