The cultural wing of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre is organising Bharat Sri Lanka Maitri Utsav to commemorate India’s Independence Day. The festival, which will be inaugurated today evening at the Independence Square in Colombo, is being observed as a vibrant carnival of friendship between the two countries. The four-day-long event will feature a handicraft fair, a food festival and cultural performances.
